Gods Unchained Aiming for the Moon
In a bid to break out of its niche market of blockchain gaming and attract more traditional gamers, Gods Unchained has added Chris Clay, a highly reputed eSports veteran as its new director.
Reportedly, Clay achieved significant feats as director of MTG Arena, including helping the game to attract 3 million players, grossing an estimated $225 million.
Now, the Gods Unchained team is hoping Clay will use his nearly two decades of experience in game design and development to take the Ethereum-powered game, which has already topped the charts as the highest-selling blockchain game of the year, to new heights.
The team claims God Unchained has sold more than 4 million cards, generating $4 million in revenue so far.
As the new director of Gods Unchained, Clay will be in charge of formulating new game features, visual designs and improve the overall community experience.
Blockchain Transforming Gaming
Though nascent, blockchain technology, the building blocks of bitcoin (BTC) and a vast array of altcoins, has been making in-roads into virtually all aspects of the global economy from supply chain to arts and entertainment.
Commenting on his new role as director of Gods Unchained, Clay reiterated that the revolutionary blockchain technology represents a new frontier for game developers as it gives them the power to do more.
In his words:
“Cryptoassets ownership on the blockchain enables developers to support games and their communities in ways never seen in electronic gaming. A blockchain card doesn’t just sit in a distributed ledger, it has the ability to travel the world and know where it’s been.”
Clay also added that blockchain technology makes it possible for all stakeholders in the eSports ecosystem to digitally sign and sell collectibles to fans.
“DLT is not just for cryptos; it is laying a solid foundation for a whole new digital economy,” he concluded.
Also, the Gods Unchained team has revealed that it has added the debit card payment option to the platform, to give gamers more choices when they purchase digital booster packs.
In related news, BTCManager informed on August 6, 2019, that nWay video games creator had integrated blockchain and cryptos into its platform.
